How to Use AI for Competitor Research
Competitor research is useful when it clarifies a choice. A long list of businesses matters less than knowing which alternatives your customers consider and why.
Define the comparison
Specify your category, location, customer and price position. Include indirect alternatives, such as a customer doing the work themselves. Quiet's competitor discovery uses your business context to help identify relevant businesses.
Separate observation from interpretation
Record what a competitor actually says, where they say it and when you checked. Then write your interpretation separately. An active social account does not prove a profitable acquisition channel, and a headline does not prove a product advantage.
Find a decision you can test
Look for repeated claims, unanswered customer questions and evidence your own business can offer. Use those findings to test a message or content angle. Keep the source links so the team can revisit the reasoning later.
